Cat Island Overview

This 50 mile long island with about 2,000 residents is a ‘get away from it all’ paradise.  Many large homes have been built here recently for those looking for a peaceful retreat.  The Queen’s Highway runs the length of the island which boasts some of the finest deserted beaches in The Bahamas.  At present Fishing and farming are the main industries on Cat Island.

One of the main towns is Arthur’s Town famous as the home of Sidney Poitier, the actor. The Airport at Arthur’s Town is served by Bahamasair and Southern Air whilst the airport at New Bight sees flights from Nassau by Bahamasair and Fort Lauderdale by Lynx Air.

For overseas investors there’s the opportunity on Cat Island to invest in some superb plots of land, right on the beach, for considerably less than the cost of a similar plot on other islands in The Bahamas.
